West Highland Line (Train to Mallaig)

This train journey, starting from Glasgow, carries you through the breathtaking western wilderness of Scotland you probably would't get a chance to see if it weren't for these train tracks. Admire the highlands, lakes, national parks and some of the smallest stations in the network, and keep your eyes peeled for the Glenfinnan Viaduct, which you will recognise from some of the Harry Potter movies.

Do & See

Glasgow has a wide selection of museums and galleries, many of which are free of charge to enter. In a way, the city itself is an open-air museum for architecture with a special focus on the works of the Scottish architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh. To get a good view of the city from above, climb one of the many hills Glasgow was built upon: some of the best bird's-eye views uncover from the Necropolis.
